On Tuesday we went to Tawangmangu. We enjoyed the scenic view of its waterfall and had lunch there. They served traditional cuisine like wedang ronde, tempe bacem, fried fish, and fried chicken. After that, we continued our journey to Jurug Garden.
The next day we went to Kasunanan Palace. We saw a lot of historical heritages in the palace. After that, we went shopping to Klewer market and Solo Grand Mall. I bought some souvenir for my cousin. In the evening, we went sightseeing the town.
On Thursday morning, we said goodbye to our grandparents and went home. I really enjoyed my holiday. It was fun. Do come over and have a look sometimes.

Directions:
v  First, shape the wires into a rectangular shape.
v  Cover the wire frame with insect screens and sew it. After that, rip the paper into small pieces.
v  And then, put the torn paper in a bucket and fill it warm water. Add one table spoon of bleach. Soak the paper for half an hour.
v  Next, put a cup of soaked paper in blender, add some bleached water and blend it.
v  Pour the blended paper in a large rectangular container, e.g. sink or tray.
v  Repeat step 4 and 5 until all of the soaked paper is blended.
v  Add and mix two table spoon of white glue to the blended paper.
v  After that, dip the screen frame into the blended paper. Lift and rinse the water for a minute.
v  Dry the paper (with the screen frame on) in the sun.
v  And then, peel the paper out of the frame screen when it’s dry.
v  Finally, iron the paper.

            Tiwah is a typical funeral ceremony of Dayak tribe in Central Kalimantan. The ceremony is also known as the biggest sacred ceremony. It is intended to deliver the soul or spirit of a dead man or also known as Salumpuk Liau toward heaven as his final resting place (Lewu Liau). It also to discharge misfortunes for the family left behind and to untie the status of widow or widower of the wife or husband. According to Kaharingan, a traditional belief of Dayak tribe, the spirit of the deceased will remain on earth and will not get in heaven (Lewu Liau) without going through Tiwah ceremony.
            Tiwah ceremony requires substantial fund to provide the offerings in the form of animals, such as cows, buffaloes, pigs, and chickens. The beheading tradition for the Tiwah ceremony was stopped in 1894, and was replaced by a cow’s or a buffalo’s head. Even so, the symbol of human head remains in the ceremony in the form of coconut.
            For Dayak people, Tiwah ceremony should be performed to show honor to their ancestors despite the great need of funds. Because of the high expenses, people often hold the ceremony together with other people whose family members have also died. They cooperate in term of the finance and the implementation of the ceremony.
